Formed in April 2004, The Honeymooners is a mixed quartet from the Upper Valley area of Vermont and New Hampshire. Composed of two married couples, The HM enjoy performing a wide variety of a cappella music, and interacting with the audience is always the main goal. Doo-wop, barbershop, gospel and novelty songs... lots of humor and some choreography, for good measure... audiences always want more! You never really know what their next song might be, but when you hear it, you may be tempted to sing along.
With hundreds performances to their credit, The Honeymooners have sung in venues as far away as Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Montreal, Indianapolis and Nashville. At barbershop chapter shows, colleges, youth festivals, state fairs, senior communities and private and corporate parties, it's clear that they truly love a crowd. Their performances are energetic and engaging.
The Hendersons hail from Norwich, Vermont:
Lisa (Lead) is the Director of Manufacturing for King Arthur Flour. Although the Honeymooners is Lisa’s first quartet, she has quickly become a true student of singing, and is frequently mistaken for an opera singer… really! Well known in the Upper Valley for her show production expertise, especially with barbershop and a cappella shows, she also coaches ensembles and teaches classes about the business of singing and performing. Lisa is the quartet’s business manager, accountant, tax expert and party planner.
Chris (Bass) is a Dartmouth College pharmacist by day and a barbershop-aholic by night. Chris (we call him Bowser – you’ll hear why when he sings!) sang bass for the award winning quartet, Custom Blend, and he never turns down an opportunity to sing barbershop. He’s also an excellent ensemble coach. The very erudite Chris is the quartet’s resident “techie.” Audio, video, the Honeymooners’ website, the GPS to get us to our gigs – he owns them all and knows how to use them!
The Signors reside in Grantham, New Hampshire:
Gaye (Tenor) is Vice President for Development and Community Relations for the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of VT and NH. Gaye loves to switch voice parts - she sang bass in a Harmony Inc. novice champion quartet, Lovely (with her daughter, Alexa, and two other high school girls) as well as lead and baritone in a family quartet, Family Feud. She’s the one you’ll hear humming harmony to “musak” in the elevator. She also serves as the quartet’s travel agent, scouting for the best deals and a free breakfast.
Dan (Baritone) is the choral music director at Lebanon (NH) High and Junior High Schools, where he is proud of his outstanding ensembles. Dan sang lead in a championship quartet called Overdrive and directed the local barbershop chorus to a first place award. A former singing judge, Dan keeps busy teaching vocal techniques and coaching a variety of ensembles around the country. With a little help from Gaye, Dan also directs a multi-generational community a cappella chorus called Harmony Night. Dan arranges much of our quartet music, and is a master of both the pitchpipe and the one-liner.
The HM have dedicated themselves to sharing their hobby, and making every day a musical party with family and friends.
